    Which one is the overflow relief gully, and why does it matter right now?
    It is the grate outside, usually against a wall in the side or back yard, sitting lower than any fixture inside the house. It exists so that a blocked line surcharges out there instead of through your shower. If it is doing its job you will see water at the grate, and unpleasant as that looks, it is far better than the alternative. Keep it clear and do not cap it.
    Can I still use the washing machine if only the toilet is blocked?
